Emergency support to Safer Hospitals and Settlements (BEHTAB phase-II)
BEHTAB phase II Project has been defined by UN-Habitat since 2021 in cooperation with the Government of Islamic Republic of Iran, after the successful completion of the first phase of the Project. Funded by the Government of Japan, the objective of the Project is to establish the foundations toward disaster preparedness and enhancement of response capacity, and crisis risk reduction (including health) associated with natural hazards in hospitals and health care facilities in I.R. Iran. Aligned with the National Disaster Management Law, UN-Habitat Strategic Plan, UNDAF and the UNSDCF in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the project comprises of three main Components and several activities including vulnerability assessment and retrofit design for 11 hospitals, implementation of role models as retrofitting solutions for Non-Structural components in 2 hospitals and developing both the institutional and personnel capacities on disaster risk reduction in this field in the country.
